BRAWL PASS COMING TO BRAWL STARS!

Brawl Pass! That’s right guys Supercell recently dropped this image on their social media platforms which means that Brawl pass is coming in the next brawl stars update. As of right now, Supercell has not told us the specific details on what’s gonna be in it how much it costs, how long it’s going to last but brawl stars has had hints of a brawl pass in the data files for months we’re just given me a lot of time to think about how it brought past but work what would come in and once again how much it would cost.

I’m gonna be sharing all of my thoughts with all my speculations because this is huge news by the way. I’m gonna be doing sneak peeks and showing everything in this update so make sure you guys don’t miss it turn on that notification bell because it’s starting this weekend guys.

Let’s start with what a brawl pass is, okay now in case you’re not familiar with like the battle pass monetization model basically players can pay a small amount to earn more rewards than other players. Typically you get an immediate reward for purchasing the pass and then you get other rewards as you do certain things in the game and we already know from brawl stars that some of the rewards that we will be getting is going to be exclusive, meaning that brawl Pass will be the only way to unlock them now this monetization model has worked incredibly well for many other games, in fact, Supercell made the gold pass in clash of clans and they made the pass royale in clash Royale. Both of which were actually incredibly well-received and it actually helped with both the clash games skyrocket in the grossing charts many years after they were first released right. Okay, now I know that many of you guys are free-to-play players and you’re still going to want to read this article because this is going to have a big impact on everyone.

Now in the past brawl stars has not released a brawl pass because it would require them to consistently produce enough content to make it worth it and if I’m being completely honest brawl stars hasn’t had enough types of rewards to actually make a brawl pass really worth it. Even when you compare the total time or money to get a maxed account in Brawl stars versus Supercells other games, brawl stars is relatively easy to max out. This is a hint that we’re gonna be getting new types of content in brawl stars.

MAJOR ISSUES

I listed monetization as one of the three major issues that Brawl Stars was going to struggle with if they did not find a way to fix it this year and that’s exactly why I predicted the brawl stars would have some sort of like brawl pass in 2020.

I wasn’t the first person to suggest that but you know it’s pretty obvious, I’m still counting as one of my predictions because I’m already doing great so far also I swear guys Supercell doesn’t tell me this stuff just like early otherwise I couldn’t talk about it right. I just spend way too much time thinking about the overall state of the game now in the past year though for all services started outsourcing work on skins and some other things that they do to produce more content each update and they’ve started releasing more and more content with each update.

Since then we’ve started getting 2 brawler’s instead of just one in each update we’ve gone from getting two or three new skins each update to getting nine skins in the last update which is crazy and all of that has happened without sacrificing other content like new game modes special events like the PSG challenge or completely new environments. So things that are coming in the brawl pass, well its quite obvious that brawl pass is coming with a revamped progression system more rewards plus exclusive rewards in the brawl past now before we dive into that.

Let’s first talk about how expensive I think this brawl pass is going to be as well as how long I think it’s going to last for now. In Clash of clans and in Clash Royale the passes cost and they last for an entire duration of a calendar month now just because supercells other games follow this pattern doesn’t necessarily mean that brawl star‘s will and the big reason why I want there to actually be a difference between these two is that you can’t actually buy the passes with gems in either clash games.

My hope is that this was going to be different in brawl stars for two reasons, first of all, I want to make it so that the freedom of players can like you know save up some gems over a long period of time to buy the pass every now and then so if they can get a taste of the exclusive content that will come with the brawl pass. Second reason why I wanted to be personable with gems is that the specialism brawl stars that aren’t purchasable for gems actually don’t go toward the Creator that you want to support by using you know code OJ or code Lex or code Kairos obviously.

PURCHASE MECHANIC

This is because brawl stars counts the Creator code when you spend gems it’s because of this that I think that the brawl passes are going to cost gems not just for the creators but also for the players and also because Brawl Stars is set up differently than Clash Royale and Clash of clans. But the question is how many gems well the equivalent of five US dollars is 80 gems so it could be somewhere around there but I actually wouldn’t be surprised if it were more than that.

And the reason why I absolutely think that brawl stars could justify selling the brawl pass for more than 80 gems is because brawl stars is monetized differently than other Supercell’s games you can spend thousands of dollars in Clash of Clans or Clash Royale and still be nowhere near a fully maxed out account but most brawl stars players could easily max out their account with a couple of hundred bucks if they spent it right and obviously if they played the game for a while nobody just creates a brand new account and spends hundreds of dollars, wait I’ve done that.

IN-GAME COSMETICS

Now brawl stars has tried to make up for this by selling in-game cosmetics with brawler skins right? The thing is skins on the lower end cost 80 gems that’s $5 right, this has been wondering if the brawl pass is going to cost more than 80 gems because typically 80 gems will only get you a single skin and most of the coolest skins in the game are nearly double that. But brawl stars has already let us know that brawl pass is coming with exclusive rewards as in multiple exclusive rewards that you can get with a brawl pass and that tells me there’s likely going to be one other thing in the brawl pass beyond just skins. I’m gonna talk about that a little bit later on but this means that the value of the brawl pass is very likely going to be more than 80 gems and that is especially true considering the fact that it will likely last for an entire month just like the passes work in Supercell other games.

Now I’m going to guess that the brawl pass is going to cost anywhere from 100 gems to 200 gems and the super sub will continue to release the majority of their skins individually aside from like one exclusive skin that can be purchased within the brawl pass key now.

Before we can talk about what will be included inside the brawl pass we need to talk about one very important thing that Supercell already let us know about and that is that we are going to be getting a revamped progression system this could mean a lot of different things brawl stars has gone through so many different progression systems back in beta right started out with a elixir then moved onto pins, badges and medals and now we’re finally here with power points and gold now this could mean that the current way that brawler progress is about to change in a huge way.

But I actually think it’s going to be much simpler than that. Obviously powerpoints and gold are going to stay exactly the same way that they currently do and I also think that brawl boxes are going to remain relatively the same as well. What I think is going to change is how we’re going to earn brawl boxes power points and gold currently every 24 hours we unlock 200 tokens as well as a star token for each event each day now this is only speculation.

BRAWL ROAD

But I think that rather than earning tokens from the battle like we currently do we’re going to have a new progression system and I’m gonna call it the Brawl Road. Now the Brawl Road would be filled with all sorts of different rewards including brawl boxes power points gold ticket for ticketed events big boxes as well as some other things. We’ll talk about later on in this article and just like you currently gain tokens by playing matches and you get more tokens if you win matches I think they’re going to make it so that when you play a match you would progress further on the brawl Road.

Once you progress far enough into it you might earn a box you might even earn some tokens that would then go toward your next box you might earn some power points for a specific brawler or some gold. The point is the more that you play and the more you win the faster you progress on the brawl Road and if you have brawl pass you would earn additional rewards in the brawl road including certain exclusive items that you can only get with the brawl pass.

Oh and by the way, this is just a concept that I came up with to help you see how it could possibly work now this footage is actually from Clash of Clans to give you a more complete example of what a finished product might actually look like there are immediate perks of purchasing the pass which I think is going to happen with the brawl pass but the majority the perks actually come from you actively playing the game throughout the entire month once you reach the end, all players would get a really exciting reward but brawl pass owners would get something exclusive. So let’s talk about what these exclusive rewards might actually look like now the issue with adding the brawl pass in the past is that you know brawl boxes gold power points that’s really all the brawler’s had to offer aside from skins and that is exactly why I think we are getting new content this update that does not currently exist in the game this is what clash Royale Pass Royale looks like you’re gonna see some regular progression rewards over on to the right with some extra progression rewards over on the left.

But for exclusive rewards that they also have skins for your towers, once you progress a little bit further and I absolutely think that we are going to be getting at least one exclusive skin in each brawl pass each month. That just makes sense right but as you progress even further they also have an emote that can only be unlocked with the pass royale. Since day one of brawl stars beta way back over two years ago players have wanted more ways to communicate in-game currently.

We’ve got two things right, you can spin which can mean everything from being to celebrating a great play on your own team and we also have shooting your own teammates which typically means just you know, Stop sucking, Stop being a noob, but it can also mean other things it’s depending on the situation especially if you’re shooting them and you’re spinning that’s usually like I do you were so awesome. But if you want to communicate with teammates you need some type of a third-party app like discord or something like that and that is why I am hoping for emotes that float over your brawler in battle.

I know the emotes and emote spamming specifically is not something that everybody wants I really think they’ve learned their lesson with Clash Royale which is why I think the emotes would release with the ability to permanently mute them. If that’s something you would like to do now the fact that brawl stars recently made it possible for players to customize their controls makes me think that they’re going to add some type of like a transparent button probably near the bottom of your screen that you could move somewhere else on the screen in order to like you know fit your own personal playstyle.

Here’s a concept that I came up with to kind of show you what I’m talking about in your settings you would be able to select eight emotes that you’d want to be able to use in battle there would be some basic emotes like the emojis that are currently in the game. But there would also be some exclusive ones that are only earned in the brawl pass while in battle there would be a transparent button near the bottom of your screen and if you put your finger on the button it’ll reveal eight possible emotes if you let go of it while your fingers in the center the emails would disappear and nothing would happen but if you release your finger on an emote that you want to use it would appear above your brawler’s head as a bonus.

I think it would be super awesome if these emotes could also be available in like the regular team chat we’re also in the club chat so you can show them off outside of battle then there are a couple of other things that I could see brawl stars putting into the game so that we could actually make the brawl pass a little bit more worth it things that we don’t currently have.

One thing you actually get in the clash royale pass is the ability to change your in-game name to a cool gold color right look super cool and we can already change our name in Brawl stars but I could see them adding exclusive name color changes to like a neon or rainbow or sparkle or in parts floating around it or something like that I don’t know stuff like that I would not be surprised to see something like that as a perk in Brawl stars.

WINNING AND LOSING COSMETICS

I’ve talked about this next idea before it but I could actually see brawl stars allowing players to customize the winning and losing pose for your brawlers so at the end of a match everybody that you played with or against gets to see that fancy pose Obviously there are some poses that could only be used with certain skins that come with you actually purchasing the skin.

I’m thinking like the pyramid that actually sucks Horus bo whenever he loses but there could also be some sweet dances or epic fails that could be applied to any skin of a specific brawler that you could show off to your teammates and enemies at the end of the match now. I will say that I think this is less likely to happen this update then like emotes but I do absolutely think it’s possible and I would not be surprised to see something like this in a future update by the way guys.

I think that this whole brawl pass is the reason why Supercell actually removed tickets from the shop and remove them from boxes and that they’re no longer going to be available in this next update.

Which is a quick reminder to make sure you spend them all this weekend or you’re gonna miss out on rewards. I think that tickets are going to be a big feature of brawl pass that’s right I don’t think they’re getting removed completely from the game instead I think for brawl-stars is going to make it so that you can get way more rewards from boss fight Robo Rumble and big game and then I think the only way for you to be able to unlock tickets is going to be in the brawl Road everyone will get tickets but brawl pass holders will get more tickets.

This would not only make the ticketed events more exciting it would also help create more value for the brawl pass. Okay, there’s one last thing I wanted to talk about regarding the brawl pass I know the majority of people reading this article right now are probably free to play and you’re either gonna have to save up gems for a long time assuming you can actually purchase the brawl pass with gems or you’re not gonna be able to use the brawl pass at all assuming it will be purchasable with gems I want to talk about why this is exciting for everyone including free-to-play players.

I mean beyond the fact that this is going to help support the development of the game which will go towards continuing to make for all sorts the best free-to-play games out there right. We’re kind of getting past the stigma of not wanting to spend money on free-to-play games because they’re free-to-play and I don’t want to spend money which I understand if you’re not able to but it’s becoming more normal to support free-to-play games like this and I think that’s a good thing at least it’s a good thing for game development.

But that’s a whole other story having a parole pass every month means that Supercell has to produce content on a consistent basis so that they can actually make each Brawl pass actually worth buying in my mind. I kind of see this as Supercell increase in the content that we will get with every single update and there is a good chance that this is just the beginning. We don’t know how the revamped progression system is going to impact for f2p players and we don’t know how it can impact people who are willing to spend money on the game.
