Hello fellow Brawl Stars players, how is your day? I am B.W and welcome to my first ever guide on BrawlStarsUp!
Today, i am going to show you a compete guide for my favourite brawler in this game. Yes it is the BULL!
Bull is the the second tankiest brawler in the game. Sitting at 1200 Whooping Healthpoints, just 100 health below El Primo.
Your primarily goal with this tanker is to Deal as many damage as possible to the enemy in close range, while serving as the tank distraction in your team!
He performs well as a ganker, It means that he will hide inside the bushes at the enemy side. And just at the moment when there is an enemy passing by, you will kill him as fast as possible with that high damage-short ranged shotgun.
He can deal up to 500 damage at just level 1 attack, which is enough to 3-shot a crates at showdown.

Brawl Stars Character Overview
Health
“Bull may not be the tankiest human in the earth, but he doesnt need to! As his double barreled shotgun can wreck most foes before he is getting wrecked himself” (Self-made XD)
With 1200 HP, Bull can take most of objective easily without getting killed. This is why he is also a good Showdowner, his relatively big HP can make the situation far easier in free for all where all players are enemies.
Bull can also 1 v 1 Shelly, it is up to the skill of both players, Shelly has the ultimate and range advantage, while Bull has the health and damage advantage.
Attack: Double-Barrel Shotgun,
“Bull can’t see ten feet, but he doesn’t need to! His high-powered shotgun can blow off a barn door with ease”.
Double-Barrel Shotgun will be your best friend in fights, it has somewhat quite wide but short attack radius. You can easily take down crate easily, but you will struggle against a moving target.
My own personal way on how to kill enemy is just to hide in the bushes, and gank them when they are near.
Shotgun is the best when you are in a close range, even you can 3-shot an El-primo easily if you can aim.
Try not to always be visually seen by enemy, Bull’s Shotgun is far harder to kill than El Primo’s punch.
So my personal preference is to use the hide n’gank technique to kill opponent easily.
Super – Bulldozer
“Bull charges forward with brute force, bulldozing his way through anything and everything!”
Your main chasing and escaping ability. Use it against your enemy to kill them and escape their 3-man ganks with this super sonic charge.
This ultimate is pretty handy in team-based mode, but i don’t think it is good enough in showdown mode.
If you escape with this skill in showdown, you are likely to meet other enemy that will just hunt you. And while using Bulldozer to kill enemy in Showdown can be good, it is far too aggressive and a wrong aim can be very bad for you.
In late game Showdown, where there is only 2-4 brawlers only and the poison is covering almost the whole map. Using Bulldozer will just lead you to the poison which means a suicidal death.
My proposal buff to this super is to be able to bring 1 opponent over his head. This way, he can make the enemy to go to the poison along with him. ( Kamikaze bull meta??)
Brawl Stars Character Matchups
Your Shotgun rival, Not a good teammate to fight together personally because both of Shelly and bull are a shotgun-type. Shelly is also one of your hardest matchups, her ultimate can push you over, allowing you to not able reach the maximum damage potential. Shelly also have more range than Bull, allowing shelly to be able to shot the bull without be able to getting shotted back.
To deal with Shelly, I would like to wait until you get to her in a very close distance, this can be done with 2 methods: Use the Hide n’ gank technique, or you can also use the Bulldozer super to quickly run over her.
Chasing game with Shelly is a bit hard since you can get kited with Shelly. So, always try to deal with her as close as possible as you have more damage and health than her.
This dual pistol spammer can be a pain in the a** to deal with if the guy is smart enough.
You may want to run to him through the bushes and ambush him. Running to him in open area is very unrecommended.
The best way to deal him is to use the bulldozer to get in front of him and quickly use that double barrel shotgun to shoot him up close. Colt will have no chance escaping, making him an easy meat as long as you have your super ready.
The same principal against Colt can be used against Brock, but i would like to say that his bullet is far easier to dodge than Colt’s.
Just make sure to dodge his Ultimate as it deals an absurd ton of damage.
Against a solo Jessie like in Showdown, the match must be fairly easy. You can 2-shot her turret easily which is relatively easy.
The main problem is when she is teamed up with a tank and another support. The turret will be properly defended and Jessie will become very hard to deal with.
Your main way to deal with this kind of thing is to team up yourself with 2 other player to quickly destroy Jessie and her turret, followed by wiping out the supports and tank.
Remember, Team and communication is key in this kind of situation.
The 2-man army somewhat can be a hard matchup, especially if she has her bear ready targeting you.
Always kill the bear first, try to 3-shot the body of the bear up close and recover, followed by killing the Nita quickly.
Remember to kill Nita quickly, or else she will be able to summon another bear, causing another problem for you.
Dynamike is not that hard to deal with if you can get near him, chasing him sometimes will get you killed because Dynamike deals a decent amount of damage with up to 320 damage per shot at level 1.
Try to use the charge near him or hide and kill him. Chasing him will just make you to get blown up by his dynamites easily.
Bull’s main rival of this game. The tank who outclassed him can be taken pretty easily if you know what you are doing.
First and foremost, you deal more damage than El Primo himself in up close range.
And last, your super is useful to counter El Primo’s super. You can chase his super with your super, while he cant chase your super with his super. Pretty interesting huh?
This matchup is based on how many elixir both the Bull have and the skill of its respective user.
Full damage shotgun is very needed in this matchup, and if any of the Bull escape with the super. It can easily be negated by another Bull’s super.
You can also to make your first opening move against another Bull by hiding in the bushes first. This way you can get your first 500 guaranteed damage against him, and the bull player can easily be killed if he didn’t react fast enough.
This Colt’s rare counterpart is as easy as Colt to deal with.
If you can aim properly at him in the nearest range possible, he will die just by 1 shot of your shotgun. This is why i personally like to pick up low health brawler as a Bull player.
Save your super to counter Ricochet as soon as you see him in the map, because that is how you use bull efficiently.
Barley is somewhat a better Dynamike, his area poison land damage can somewhat become very big.
Try to not get hit by his bottle(?), and ambush him up close. Dodge as many bottle as you can against him.
One of the best splasher in this game, Poco has a good amount of health while having a stupidly big area radius. He also have a healing ability, which has proven to be very handy at team fights.
Consider to kill him more than other enemy in fights, because his ultimate have the ability to heal all of his teammates.
You can chase him and deal him up close because his damage, even though its very wide.
He is not that big for a tanky player like Bull.
The fastest character in this game, The scout from TF2 or the Tracer from Overwatch.
Personally, i have a very hard time dealing with him. His dash is just very useful to both escape and chasing enemies.
The only way to kill him is to use your super to chase him. Quickly followed by the possibly the shot of your shotgun to destroy him fast.
Bo can be hard to deal with if he knows where to place his ultimate.
You may want to trigger his trap first and recover, followed by chasing him and kill him before he can place more trap.
Never run to Bo mindlessly, as Bo usually have a trap strategy in his sleeves and will get you killed no matter how tanky you are.
Along with Poco, spike is also one of the best splasher in Brawl Stars. He also deals a ridiculous amount of damage against a solo player.
However, Bull is tanky enough to deal with his splashing damage. You can try to solo 1 v 1 him before he can cause more trouble.
Bull is one of the best 1 v 1 character in the game IMHO, so dealing with spike can be relatively easy.
This poisonous daggers thrower can be one deadly guy. Although not as threatening as Spike i would say.
Crow can easily stack his poisoning dagger to your body, and the damage over time is absolutely crazy. Try to not get hit by the dagger often. The main annoying thing about the Damage overtime is that you will not be able to recover fast, since the poison will still be flowing in your body.
Just use your super Bulldozer directly to this guy,
Crow is just another squishy glass cannon guy. You can take him easily in 1 v 1 scenario.
Upgrade Priority List
Upgrading bull is not as confusing as upgrading other Brawler.
Typically, you will either go for health or attack and never for the Super.
Why no Super???
Think of this, you will usually use your Super for escape first and lastly, charging to their army of 3 Brawlers.
Although the damage of Super is good (200), the Double-Barrel Shotgun is the one and only your reliable damage dealer. It can deal up to 500 damage per clip compared with ordinary 200 damage super that you will need to fill first.
Now you know why you wont need to upgrade bull’s Super.
At max level, you will only get +50 damage that costs 15 fking elixir. Totally not worth it in my opinion.
So now, you will pick either health or damage. What should you pick first??
If you are likely to play as a team or teammate based game. Go for the health! Since you can get up to 300 more health at max level, it is more than enough to escape tough situations.
If you are likely to play showdown or as a solo player. Go for the damage! It can help you to deal with crates faster and of course, kill more enemies faster! 😀
Brawl Stars Character Conclusion
Bull is one of the best close-ranged damage dealer in the game, while having the second most biggest health in the game. His primary objective in my opinion is to rush to enemy backlines, distracting all of those enemies and killing the squishies, while also tanking for your teammates in the back.
I am may not be the best bull in this game, currently only level 10 bull. But i would like to share my ideas and strategy with you guys.
