Dynamike is one of the hardest to master, referring only to competitive play. Especially with his star power, he’s so much hard and fun to play. He can be a very good offensive brawler but pretty bad on defense. Let’s get to know this brawler in one of our Best Brawl Stars Characters Guide!

Dynamike can ride the blast wave of his explosives to jump over obstacles!
DemolitionAdds +1000 damage to Mike’s Super. |
ABOUT
Dynamike is a common brawler with low-medium health (2800) at the base. He is one cheeky fellow as he attacks over walls by throwing his dynamites at the enemies. His attacks are pretty deadly if he manages to get a few mites on somebody.
His super is a large barrel which he throws at enemies. The bomb is really deadly as it has quite a large radius, knocks back enemies, destroys obstacles and does 2200 base damage.
He is more than capable of handling enemies both at long-range and short-range. But he does get killed before killing others because of the time it takes to throw the dynamites and the time the dynamites take to explode.
Still, he is a really good character if you know how to use him. Which you will after you read this guide.
Now, let’s talk about some stats.
Attack: Short Fuse
“Short-tempered Mike is always moments from blowing up, just like the two lit sticks of dynamite he tosses.”
Mike throws two sticks of dynamite at a time that blow up after a short period of time and deal quite a bit of damage to enemies caught in its blast radius. The two sticks do separate bit in midair and land a bit farther away from each other so maximum possible damage is dealt. His base attack is 1600 and goes up to 2240 at the max level.
But it depends, only two dynamites do 2240 damage and most of the time if the enemy is moving and you don’t aim properly, you are gonna end up dealing only 1120 damage if only one dynamite hits the enemy. This is the reason why you should be skilled and be able to predict where the enemy will move next.
If you are gonna auto-aim, forget about doing any damage to the other brawler. He’s the only brawler whos auto-aim shots are never gonna hit enemies however they run. So don’t auto-aim, ever…
Super
“A big-bada-barrel of dynamite blows up just about everything. Enemies get knocked back on impact!”
Mike throws the barrel full of gunpowder that he carries on his back. The bomb can be thrown a fair distance and when it detonates, it deals very high damage to enemies within its large blast radius. Any surviving opponents will be stunned and pushed back, allowing mike to finish them off.
But the mistake most of the people do while using his super is that they throw it in front of the enemy which actually pushes them away from their spot which actually throws them out of your range. So always if possible throw it on the other side of the brawler so that they don’t out of our range. It could actually go pretty bad if you do that when you are not in front of a wall, or they will be thrown near you and they would destroy you.
Strengths
- A very good crowd controller.
- Denies a lot of areas in different maps.
- Useful for killing that last guy/girl running away from your teammate because they didn’t have enough ammo to finish them.
- Very good to play if you have mastered physics or geometry.
Weaknesses
- Generally requires another teammate’s help in taking down the most elusive or tacky brawler.
- VERY weak to snipers.
- Will make you rage if enemies keep running away.
Matchups
A really easy target especially because she is very fast and you can easily hit every one of your shots. Strand away as far away as possible and predict where she’ll go and fire away. You might want to block off any exit path with bombs so either she’ll be trapped in an area or she’ll have to take damage from your bombs. Just make sure you don’t get in her poking range.
If you do get in the poking range, throw your Super at her. She’ll either run away and stop chasing you, run into the bomb and get knocked back so you’re out of poking range or run into the bomb and get killed.
Being a medium-range character, Colt has a bit of an advantage. He can safely poke mike from far away. As I have stated in my other guides, weave, and dodge. Colt can’t turn while attacking. Use this to your advantage. Get closer to him and kill him.
Nita does have some good range. To counter her, get behind a two-way obstacle. Meaning, there are two ways to exit the hiding location. If you see her come from the left, go from the right. And vice versa. If you see her bear then try and kite both of them on the same side. If you can’t, then book it.
The old mirror matchup. Be smart. Know that the enemy has the same tactic as you. Zig zag so that the mirror mike doesn’t know where to throw his bombs. He may do the same so, keep spamming bombs until one of you kills another. Who’s the real mike? We shall never know.
Run like a coward and throw bombs behind you because there’s no other way to defeat him as mike. If he uses his super, then use your super to back him up away from you. You can pretty easily take him out if you could trap in a closed quarter.
The same as the above. Except for the super part. If you’re near the side of the arena and he changes towards the arena wall near you then book it like it’s your chance. If he comes at you vertically then you can just step aside because most likely he’s gonna be going another place.
Long-range sniper is pretty good against him but only in the open, always hide behind a wall. Do the same as I said with Colt but be more careful. He may shoot only 1 rocket but those things hurt and have a huge hitbox.
Basically you except robotically, he substituted EXPLOSIVE damage and obstacle destruction for more area denial. Treat him as a better Mike and blow his screws off. His auto aims can hit you, but yours won’t.
Another sniper sorta character. Her bullets bounce off others so make sure you don’t get hit or your whole team’s gonna get hit. Treat her as a slower Colt.
Colt with bouncy bullets. He’s header to take out behind obstacles since he also can shoot from behind walls. Make sure that he doesn’t get a good position.
You can safely take him out from behind a wall. If he starts chasing you, treat him like El Primo or Bull.
Most of the time you need another teammate to help you kill Bo as he’s just too powerful for Mike. His attacks are more accurate and deal more damage. His super is annoying. Just make sure that you bring along a teammate to flank and counter him.
The true sniper of brawl stars. Be very careful. Take your time to move around obstacles to take cover from her bullets. Don’t let her build her charge up. Then throw dynamites at her until she gets trapped in a corner. If more people are trapped with her, throw a big bomb there cuz why not.
She’ll most of the time hit you if you are trying to run away so instead hide behind cover and throw dynamites at her. If she throws a healing station down, most likely her teammates will flock to it. This is a good moment to throw the bib bomb at the station. Best case scenario, the whole team dies or become critically injured. Worst case scenario, you deal some damage to her station.
GG RIP. What you can do is kite him to your teammates so that he either runs away or gets killed by your teammates. Most likely you will die.
Tara is a pretty good counter to mike especially if she has her super, she could actually open the walls and make you stand vulnerable. If she has her healing shades star power, your a dead meat. Try to use your jump star power to escape from her
Use your teammates as him as meat shields and bombard him with attacks from all sides. He’s can be easily taken in two shots or even one super with your demolition star power.
A very elusive one. Do the same as Mortis. He is as fast as Mortis because but doesn’t have a dash attack. This may give you a fighting chance. What you do have to remember is that he has a very good escape super. So don’t go throwing your big bombs all over him.
I HAVE MENTIONED ONLY SOME BRAWLERS BECAUSE THE GUIDE IS NOT DEDICATED FOR MATCHUPS BUT MORE ON HOW TO MASTER HIM.
Game Modes
Gem Grab
It really depends on your team. Whether you have a good tank, if your team can protect you and so on. If you do get a good team, you can most likely defeat most other teams. He’s gonna be very deadly if you can aim and predict your shots. You can deal a ton of damage if you actually hit your shots. You can actually control the map more than being on the offensive game.
Hide behind a wall and continue throwing dynamites into the center of the map. If both the dynamites hit the enemy, they will definitely fall back, so your teammates can continue collecting gems. This strategy won’t be viable if the enemies have brawlers like Brock, Barley, Dynamike or any other brawler which could counter you over the wall.
Spamming your shots even though they may not hit the brawlers will be very helpful in this mode because it is all about controlling in gem grab.
Bounty
A decent game mode for him. Not the best. But he can be very deadly in maps like Layer Cake. Layer Cake and Deeper Danger. Because these 2 maps are popular for throwers, make sure you have at least a brawler that can protect you against like an assassin like Leon/Darryl/Mortis. A lot of people play Mortis to counter Dynamikes which are popular in this map. He can amazing if you can stack up against you supers especially against the sniper, just finding the perfect spot behind a wall would be crucial
Heist
The perfect game mode for him. It’s best to use him in conjunction with Barley so that you have ultimate power over the arena. He’s actually not very good as he used to be because of so many prevalent tanks that could counter him like Rosa and Darryl. He can be easily countered especially because when the enemies surround your safe, and you get spawn trapped, you can neither go on offence and struggle against defending them.
This is where Mike shines the most. On the attacking team, use your super to blow open the wall protecting the safe, and then bombard it with your ranged high damage explosions! Whenever you can, try to land your super on the safe, this will do plenty of damage.
On defense, it is very similar to Gem Grab; keep throwing dynamite to keep your opponents back. Even if it doesn’t hit, it stalls the opponent, which is the goal of the defending team.

Showdown
He can be used in a very few maps like cavern churn but most of the maps have very few walls like Passage which he could be destroyed very easily. You can use him if you have his star power and are very good at it. More on that given in later in the article. Shoot at your feet when running backward — When someone is chasing you, especially Primo, and your running for your life, I’ve noticed that shooting at your feet lands the dynamite in the perfect position to hit your opponents.
Brawl Ball
Definitely a good pick. Providing area denial is crucial for winning this mode and mike provides just that. Honestly, brawl ball is in a weird spot, where it doesn’t favour teamwipes/staying alive, Nor does it favour slipping through enemies(something the dev team has clearly shown when they nerfed Mortis). I suppose Dyna could be okay if you use it well, as crowd control and to help your Primo.
Seige
Similar to gem grab, you can control the center like a god. Always try to throw the supers on to the bolts so that either the opponent either gets killed or gets pushed back from getting the bolts which are the most essential part of seige. If the enemies notice your strategy, throw your dynamites a little bit back so that they can’t dodge them.
BRAWL STARS CHARACTERS ADVANCED GUIDE
Tips on how to deal with an enemy Dynamike?
The closer you get to Dynamike, the smaller his explosions are going to be. Imagine a circle around Dynamike that is made up of his max range, once you get inside the circle use strafey/jukey movements and it’s going to be hard for him to hit you as long as you are not too predictable. Remember when juking out Dyna you can use left-right forward and EVEN backward movement and you will be dodging his shots in no time
If you aren’t able to get to him, still doing these movements while fighting your opponents will also help dodge his shots basically making him useless for his team
Dynamike’s attacks are on a timer. This means even when the dynamite hits the ground there is still a delay before they explode. This allows the enemies to avoid the explosions rather than getting hit by them, that’s not what we want. One obvious way to help against this is to lead your targets; fire where they’re going, not where they are. What you can also do is surround your opponents with dynamite. Shoot one towards their left, one towards their right, and they’re bound to get hit by one of them.
Dynamike’s attack has splash damage and a pretty big area of splash in fact. This allows Dynamike to damage more than one enemy at once, which is very beneficial in team modes like Heist and Gem Grab where the enemy team is normally close together. This allows you to hit the enemy even if your shot was a bit off, allowing you more room for error and flexibility.
Multiple jumps help:
Basics: It is impossible to perform a triple jump without walls (unless you use your super) so don’t even try it 😂
Understand that the reason why you can do it with the walls is that, if you star power towards a wall you jump for a shorter amount of time, giving you a chance to throw another attack.
Start off by doing doubles using walls.
While walking towards a wall throw in front of you close enough that when you reach your sticks they will explode you forward. Now do that again but right before the one under you explodes throw another one. If all goes well you will jump and by the time you land you will jump on the one you just threw. It will take time but you have to master how long it takes for your dynamites to explode.
Now if you have gotten this far you should be able to throw a third one if you get close enough to the walls/make your jump time shorter.
Advanced: To make this actually useful in ranked. You are going to have to be able to pull it off consistently, and you are going to have to master the aim so you just don’t bounce around in random directions (which sometimes isn’t that bad if you are just trying to survive) On paper its simple, if your Dynamite is behind you, you will jump forward, if it is in front of you, you will jump backward, if it’s south-west of you, you will jump north-east and so on… It’s just aiming it where you want and knowing where you are going to land that is very hard
I especially use the walls to give me easy doubles when I want to jump over them in a heist to get in range of the safe heist. You throw one so that you will have short star power and will land up against the wall, and the other one you threw right before you jumped should push you over.
Hit your shots:
Keep enemies at your max range when you attack them and react to their movements quickly. If they fall back, move up, if they push up move back. This is to keep them in that sweet spot where your shots are harder to dodge. If they start getting too close I would definitely save your ammo to throw 2 at a time. Its a mistake I see a lot of mikes make when facing tanks that are trying to rush because at that close the dynamite hits the ground but doesn’t explode so they can react to single shots easily. This is why it would be better to use 2 shots up close rather than 1, even if you have to take the time to reload to use 2.
Since you should never auto-aim with mike at any range, I always have an attack ready to fire (so basically I always see his curved line with a circle around it) This will help you get ready to attack when you encounter enemy brawlers.
Tanks just love to rush you… knowing this you can move up a little to attract them and they start chasing you but then fall back and throw behind you so either they back off or you get some nice damage. I usually do this in a heist when I have a tank in my lane that’s starting to get close. Also, make sure not to do this with 1 ammo because of that’s not enough
Aiming is all about practice and reaction time if you are aiming and they suddenly switch direction you have to be able to switch direction quickly before you let go. I know it sounds weird but I constantly am wiggling my aimer when I am aiming because it helps you make quick changes right before you want to let go.
Once in a while randomize your attacks. Maybe 1 and then 2 quick ones, or 3 medium speed ones. Just don’t be so predictable with your attacks.
Mike’s super is, disappointing, to say the least. The bomb he throws, while having a wide radius, is on a long fuse and most of the time you’ll see your opponents escaping easily. Even though you will sometimes see the super deal a good amount of pain, you will see a ton more utility in plenty of other supers.
Random quick tips:
-
Try jumping over franks shots and Tara’s super before they land
-
If Tara’s super is going to suck you, throw to the center of her super so that when it sucks you there you will jump out
-
Use your super jump to dribble in brawl ball
-
Dynamike does 7% per shot on the safe 10% per super
-
Doubles using your super are very easy! try that first! even better try that against a Bull who thinks that they know where you are going to land and surprise them with a bomb as you fly away 🙂
-
If you are making a long-distance jump throw some dynamite in front of you so people can’t get close, or they just sit there waiting for you and blow up lol
-
Play with sound. This will help you hear how long it takes for his shots to explode, and help you master the infamous double jump
-
You don’t always have to follow through with a jump… sometimes a Bull will pop out of the bushes or a crow jumps where you are going to land right when you get ready to star power… In that case, if its not too late abort mission by doing whatever you can do to not jump there, by moving backwards or to the side to not jump/jump somewhere else
-
If you have walking access to their safe, throw your dynamite on it and jump to make you harder to hit, I mean why not
-
Keep in mind that you are invulnerable while you are in the air even from showdown gas
-
You do not go faster using his star power unless you are using his super, his mobility comes from jumping over things other brawlers have to walk around
-
The circle around his shots is the range that will cause you to jump. If you are outside that you will not jump
-
The same goes for his super ^
-
You can leap over walls from farther using his super. For example (I don’t know how much it really is) If you had to be 2 tiles away from a wall to jump over it with your super you can jump over it from 3 or 4 tiles away

TIPS FOR NON-COMPETITIVE PLAY
- Hiding behind a bush with a wall in front of it and throwing the dynamite toward the enemy Brawlers from there can be effective since it will be difficult for most other Brawlers to reach you.
- When being chased by an enemy at close range, try throwing your dynamites a bit in front of you. This either makes your opponent stop chasing or take damage from your attack.
- Try throwing your Big Barrel o’ Boom to attack two enemies, as it will charge again and you can throw another Big Barrel o’ Boom instantly.
- For advanced players with abnormal timing skills: If you can aim Dynamike’s Super and a couple stick of dynamite, you can get the Super to push enemies into the dynamites and deal extreme damage to them, usually killing them unless they are Tank Brawlers.
- After obtaining his Dyna-Jump, it is effective to escape from nasty situations by throwing dynamite at your feet. This will not only damage nearby enemies but also throw you back some distance, avoid damage, and allow for a speedy escape over walls. In desperate situations, his Super will propel him even further, making it a more reliable tool for escape while also being able to damage and even kill enemies due to the large amounts of damage dealt by the Super.
- Though the timing is tricky, it is possible to jump over enemy attacks with Dynamike’s Dyna-Jump. This is rare but can help in sticky situations when under heavy fire.
See you in brawl stars….
